Adria on the patio
Picture
Adria (ay’-dree-uh) celebrates her 5-year anniversary at Rose & Thistle in May 2016. Among her desire to travel to many places, she is most intrigued by Thailand's culture, food and clothing. The most influential book she’s read is The Diary of Anne Frank. The quote, “After everything, I still believe that people are good at heart,” made quite an impression on 6th-grade Adria. She remembers playing with her dad’s records, and in particular, the Led Zeppelin III album cover “with the spinning thingy". The song Tangerine holds a special place in her heart. No Quarter is a close runner-up (insert tipping joke). But Adria doesn’t just attribute her love of vinyl and Led Zeppelin to her father, but also the best advice. As he was in his last stage of life, he imparted to her, “When God closes a door, he opens a window.” In other words, there will always be other opportunities, always another way.

If she could invite three people to have dinner with her, they would be Jane Goodall, Snoop Dogg, and the Dalai Lama. It’s possible they would have pizza or spaghetti, as those are her favorite comfort foods. Her favorite cocktail to make is a Manhattan, so she’d probably serve that, too. (Hey, it’s a fantasy, ok?) She believes the best gifts to give and receive are experiences. While her hobbies include wood-fired ceramics (“That’s my jam!”), yoga, and martial arts, she is happiest when she has to go back to the kitchen to get a side of ranch.
